In this class you will find relaxation with a balance of strength and flexibility. An ambience of yoga music, soft lighting, and subtle aroma of incense greeting you outside the door.
Beginning class with setting an intention for your practice and laying down to allow yourself into the space and bring your attention to your breath. Then transitioning to seated asanas (postures) working your way up to a standing to start salutations (sun or moon). Moving on to balancing poses and pranayamas (breathing techniques) to lead into savasana (deep relaxation). Ending class with a mula bandha (grounding technique) and gratitude.
Hatha Yoga refers to the practice of bringing harmony to the two main energies in the human body – the energy of the moon and the energy of the sun. Hatha yoga is a path toward creating balance and uniting opposites. In our physical bodies we develop a balance of strength and flexibility. We also learn to balance our effort and surrender in each pose. Hatha yoga is a powerful tool for self-transformation. It asks us to bring our attention to our breath, which helps us to still the fluctuations of the mind and be more present in the unfolding of each moment.
