5-Day Introduction to Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy with Margaret Rosenau, Craniosacral Instructor

In our culture, we are taught to think of life as static, but life and the human body are and have always been dynamic, alive, and in motion. Did you know that the forces that can facilitate healing are the same forces that shaped you in your earliest days?

In this five-day (35-hour) course, you will be introduced to craniosacral therapy, an elegant and effective system of healing based on the discoveries of Dr. William Sutherland. Additionally, you’ll learn and experience various aspects of the biodynamic paradigm underlying our approach to craniosacral therapy and all courses at the School of Inner Health. Additionally, since this course is equivalent to Module 1 of the full certification training, it is a great way to explore if the full training is a fit for you.

Breath and Diaphragms: A Feldenkrais© Approach with Ann Harman, D.O., LMT, GCFP©

Through the fascinating movement explorations of the Feldenkrais Method© and related hands on techniques, we will explore the breath, as well as the diaphragms and sphincters. All of our life processes, in one way or other, are dependent upon these structures for optimal function.

By releasing restrictions in the breathing mechanism, numerous muscular and fascial imbalances in the craniosacral, cervical, thoracic, and lumbar areas are relieved. By reducing tensions in the diaphragms and sphincters, visceral function is enhanced. For example, the respiratory diaphragm is believed by some to be an accessory pump to the heart, due to its pumping action on the vena cava. Mobility of the abdominal viscera depends upon free diaphragmatic movement. Numerous other connections exist.

In addition to activities that are useful for self-care, we will also practice hands-on applications to compliment craniosacral and visceral manipulation.
