Edie Williams / Flexibility and Balance on Tuesdays 10:00 - 11:00 am, Inner Space

Flexibility and Balance,  this class is a gentle full body sequence with emphasis on breathing, stretching of specific muscle groups, and movements to emphasize better balance and posture.  Accompanied by relaxing music.  Intended to create improved flexibility, body awareness and "peace of mind".  Class is suitable for all ages, beginner to intermediate, and adaptations for special needs clients will be made.......

Led by Edie Williams, a nurse. massage therapist and certified personal trainer who has taught both flexibility and balance classes at Premier Health and Fitness Club for several years.

Joy Moore / Hatha Yoga on Mondays 6:00 - 7:00 pm, Akaal Studio

Hatha Yoga, with Joy, Wednesday class will focus on relaxation and breath work.  Great for beginning your yoga practice and good for continuing yoga students who want to deepen their practices. Saturday class - Yoga to energize and ground you.  Helping you to release your stress and recharge your energy for the coming week.  
 
Joy was certified through the Yoga Unlimited Studio run by Leslie Hanks in 1999. Her teaching experience has been at a local gym, individual classes, and a continuing group classes at a local church.  She has continued her learning through work with Loretta Armer and various other instructors.

Lynne Andrews / Tri-Yoga Classes on Wednesdays 5:45 - 7:15 pm, Workshops February 21 and March 14, Akaal Studio

TriYoga is a unique system of hatha yoga developed by Kali Ray.  It is based on flowing sequences in which postures are connected by a wave like motion. This method is the union of posture, breath and focus – which is, asana, pranayama and mudra.

Lynne Andrews is a certified TriYoga teacher trainer and senior instructor. A teacher for 24 years, Lynne specializes in postural alignment and guides students to experience an enhanced inner flow of energy.

Geralyn Russell, B.S., R.R.T., 500 level RYT, wishes to continue her support of individuals increasing their awareness through yoga. Geralyn began her yoga journey with experiments in meditation to calm the mind while engaged in a stressful sales career. By the time she became a Division Manager for a Fortune 500 company, she was committed to applying the principles of yoga to the daily challenges of corporate life. Since her early retirement she has dedicated herself to living a contemplative life and enjoying time with her family, friends and four-legged’s. Many teachers have influenced Geralyn’s teaching, including Bob Smith along with his wife Ki McGraw, and Lilias Folan in particular. Bob and Ki for their focus on core strength and meditation; Lilias for her teaching about "the heart of yoga." Geralyn has been teaching yoga for almost 20 years and leads classes and workshops in Yoga Nidra (Deep Relaxation and Meditation), Gentle Yoga with a focus on Breath Awareness, and has developed a Doga Class (yoga with your Dog). She is also a Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapist and offers private sessions.

It is my pleasure to invite you to attend a series of Qigong classes (9 weeks) entitled Awakening Your Healing Energy.We will begin by learning the basics of our body’s energy anatomy, or meridians, and how to use our intention to communicate with the more balanced sources of energy, or chi, predominant in nature.  Through simple qigong exercises and guided meditation, we will
strengthen our internal and external energy fields, detoxify the vital organs of stagnant energy, balance and harmonize the spirit, and enhance the immune system.  A daily practice of these simple exercises can lead to greater health, vitality, and well being.  Join me and start feeling better!

Joyce Baker / Pilates at Lunch on Mondays and Wednesdays at 12:15 pm, Inner Space

Joyce is certified in both Pilates Matwork and Standing Pilates. Classes include Pilates Fundamentals based on the methods of Joseph Pilates. These sessions are for all ages and abilities. Using a variety of small equipment (stability balls, pilate rings, straps, small balls, and light weights), Joyce engages participants with a fun, fulfilling workout. Joyce began teaching Pilates in 2002.  Her teaching experiences include Pilates Plus, Legends, Forestmeadows, and various branches of the state.

Chantel Graham / Yin Yoga on Thursdays 7-8:15 pm (beginning March 4th), Akaal Studio

Yin yoga is a practice of mostly seated postures consisting of long holds (anywhere from 1-20 minutes!) that are meant to stretch the deep connective tissue of the body, especially the hips, pelvis, and lower spine. A yin practice is a complement to a yang practice which involves faster movement and strengthening of the muscles.  Although a yin practice can be meditative in itself, it is an excellent preparatory practice to seated meditation.  According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, stretching the connective tissue releases energetic blockages in the meridians and eases the flow of chi, or prana, in the body. After a few yin classes, students may consider coupling this effort with CORE Myofascial Release work by Chantel.
 
Classes: Thursdays 7:00-8:15 pm, $10 each 
Myofascial Release: 90 minute sessions $85 each
 
A special rate of $106 is available to students who purchase 4 classes and 1 - 90 minute session of myofascial release.  This is a 15% savings over purchasing classes and bodywork separately. Class passes expire after 6 weeks.  It is highly encouraged that students receive the bodywork and take classes on a regular basis to achieve the highest potential level of healing.
